Vores næste stop var i Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Vi havde ikke et tog på radioen, men ville se skæringen med CN, der også har lidt trafik fra KCS. Here er NS-signalet mod nord, der også er bloksignal på NS' Absolute Permissive Block. I baggrunden er NS' rangerområde og Amtrak-stationen. Nedenfor er et par andre billeder af skæringen.

Our next stop was in Hattiesburg, MS. We didn't have a train on the scanner but we wanted to check out the crossing with CN (that also carries KCS). Here's the northbound NS signal protecting the diamond, serving as an intermediate Absolute Permissive Block signal as well. In the background is NS' yard and the Amtrak station. Her er CN's (dværg-)signal der dækker skæringen med NS-strækningen, i retning mod Jackson, Mississippi. På standeren til højre er instruktionerne til CN's personale hvis de vil krydse NS-strækningen (se nedenfor). CN-strækningen er uden automatisk linieblok.

Here's the dwarf signal that protects the crossing on the CN, direction Jackson MS.  On the post to the right are instructions for CN crews if they need to cross the NS (below). The CN-line is unsignaled.
