Imellem Culgaith og Appleby er Kirkby Thore, hvor en gipsfabrik er beliggende. Gipsen ankommer pr. tog i containere fra kraftværker mod syd. Vi var heldige at et tog holdt klar til afgang fra fabrikken, blot afventende dette sydgående persontog.

Between Culgaith and Appleby is Kirkby Thore, the site of a gypsum plant. The gypsum arrives per train from power plants down south. We were lucky that a train was ready to depart the plant, just awaiting this southbound passenger train.
