Tuesday I had an appointment with Nathan Clark (co-author of Bessemer & Lake Erie in Color, the book that got me interested in the Bessemer) in Greenville, a good hour north of Pittsburgh. What a morning - the rain came down bigtime, so this was going to be a wet day!

Nate and I were to meet here at Greenville Railroad Park. The dominant exhibit is an ex. Union Railrad 0-10-2 with a booster truck. Similar locomotives were found on the Duluth, Missabe & Iron range, and this display is painted URR on one side and DM&IR on the other. Both roads (and others, including the Bessemer) were owned by US Steel as part of their transportation infrastructure.
