Og kæmpestore Long Island Ice Teas... Broen i baggrunden fører KCS' Transcon Division over Red River. |
We continued to
Shreveport and arrived after dark. We didn't know where to stay, but
grabbed a coupon book at a gas station. The Holiday Inn near Downtown
had a good offer, and we figured that would be close to the
interesting junction of KCS and UP by the river. We had not even sat
our suitcases down before we heard locomotives outside...! It turned out the Holiday Inn is located right by the junction (the building to the right). We enjoyed a few trains that night, before heading on to dinner at a nearby sports bar with great Cajun food and huge Long Island Ice Teas... Anyway, here we are early the next morning, as a local pulls onto the KCS from the UP. The bridge in the background carries the KCS Transcon Division over the Red River. Of course nothing else happened that morning, and after some hours of waiting we had to head east along the Transcon. |
